Benefits of drinking coffee

It’s been a question that has been floating about for years – is caffeine good for you?

At the end of last year, a report was published in the British medical journal by the University of Southampton stating that two or three cups of coffee a day may actually be good for you. This research analysed the health of coffee drinkers by examining a number of different studies and coming to a final conclusion. However, there are a lot of factors to consider as well like age, lifestyle and general health. There are many benefits of drinking coffee but always seek advice if you are unsure about your caffeine intake.

Of course, the one that we all know, coffee can give an energy boost. This is down to the caffeine in coffee which is the most consumed psychoactive in the world! This means that a substance can change your mood, behaviour or memory.

Even though the caffeine itself may be beneficial, the antioxidants in the coffee may also bring health benefits. The protection against liver cancer, type 2 diabetes and other health problems has often been linked to the antioxidants in coffee. However, there is a lot more research being done on this topic

Another study also states that coffee can boost your metabolism. Increasing your caffeine intake can also increase how much fat you burn. A cup of coffee can also improve athletic performance but only if consumed occasionally as we can become intolerant to the effects of caffeine if drank too regularly.

We believe in everything in moderation so while you’re enjoying the health benefits of coffee make sure it’s with a cup Italian Aroma Coffee.
